The SafEye Quasar 900 Series is a cutting-edge solution for continuously monitoring combustible hydrocarbon gases. Utilizing the Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) technique, it employs a “spectral fingerprint” analysis of the atmosphere. 

The Quasar 900 system consists of an infrared transmitter and receiver, separated over a line of sight ranging from 23 ft (7m) up to 660 ft (200m). This configuration enables reliable monitoring in extremely harsh environments where dust, fog, rain, snow, or vibration can significantly impact signal quality. 

The Quasar 900 transmitter and receiver are housed in rugged, stainless steel ATEX and IECEx-approved enclosures. The enclosures feature heated windows to prevent condensation and icing, and the system is designed to meet SIL2 requirements according to IEC61508. 

The hand-held communication unit can be connected in situ via the intrinsically safe approved data port, enabling prognostic and diagnostic maintenance operations.
